It's been over a year now since the B.C. government received 14 recommendations to protect old growth from the independent panel they appointed – the most pressing of which was to implement logging deferrals in at-risk old growth forests within 6 months. But now a year has passed and the B.C. government has done next to nothing. Instead, they continue to hand out permits for logging and remain silent when companies are handed out injunctions that clear the way for chopping down the last standing giants.
